Jasmine* (Jessamine) has a warm, rich, deeply floral aroma. It is a lasting scent, which effectively removes odors. Jasmine has a long history in perfumery and are widely cultivated for the characteristic fragrance of their flowers. Jasmine flowers have to be gathered at night because the odor is more powerful after dark. The flowers are laid out on cotton cloths soaked in olive oil for several days and then extracted leaving the true jasmine essence. Some of the countries producing jasmine essential oil are India, Egypt, China and Morocco. *Jasmine is an absolute or essence rather than essential oil.
